| Sambucus pubens is a large shrub, reaching 12-25' tall and wide. Leaves are opposite, pinnate compound, lovely dark green. Flowers bloom in late spring, yellowish-white, on 5" conical panicle. Fruit is small, scarlet drupe, mid summer ripening, very ornamental. There are also white and yellow fruited forms. A highly attractive plant. Native from Newfoundland to Alaska, south to Georgia, Colorado. |
