Propogating Hybrid Willow Trees

We recently built a lovely house that now sits in the middle of a former cornfield. It is extremely windy, and we spent $300 on 30 Hybrid Willow Trees to help create a wind break. The trees have not only survived, but thrived! What came as 4 foot tall sticks two years ago are now 16-18 feet tall. The problem is that we need more and I would prefer creating my own instead of paying $10 a tree. Here's my plan, and if anybody has any advice on exactly how to do this, then please let me know.
I'll take a sharp knife and cut a twig from a tree right above a bud (do I need to wait until it has leaves?), stick some rooting powder on the cut end, stick it in a glass jar, and wait for roots to appear. When they appear, I'll plant them in a container and nurse them along until they can survive in the windy world. Does anybody see any problems with this plan? I need ADVICE!!!
