: We recently built a lovely house that now sits in the middle of a former cornfield. It is extremely windy, and we spent $300 on 30 Hybrid Willow Trees to help create a wind break. The trees have not only survived, but thrived! What came as 4 foot tall sticks two years ago are now 16-18 feet tall. The problem is that we need more and I would prefer creating my own instead of paying $10 a tree. Here's my plan, and if anybody has any advice on exactly how to do this, then please let me know. I am wondering the same thing myself. My friend has a weeping willow that grows about a foot a year...I wonder if I can just cut part from it and stick it in the ground after it has roots? Did you have any luck?
