3rd Annual Provincial Giant Pumpkin Grower's Seminar

If you are interested in the sport of growing giant vegetables and want to learn from the best, then plan on attending the 3rd Annual Growers Seminar on Sunday, April 1st at Guelph University, Guelph, Ontario. The Seminar not only features top speakers and experienced growers; it also offers a seed bazaar so growers can access top quality giant seeds. Port Elgin Pumpkinfest along with the Ottawa site (The Giant Pumpkin Growers of Canada Assoc.) organizes the seminar attracting Growers from all over North America. More than 200 growers attended last year's event originating from as far away as Georgian, Minnesota, South Dakota, Florida, Michigan, Quebec and Ohio.
Seminar speakers will cover all aspects of growing giant pumpkins and the highlight of the day is the "Dream Team" panel discussion with the top 10 growers in the world who have all surpassed the 1,000 pound pumpkin mark.
Another highlight of the day is the presentation of the "Orange Cup and the Orange Masters Jacket" to Al Eaton - winner of the heaviest pumpkin in Canada. Many of the Growers arrive the day before staying at the Ranada Inn for social and networking opportunities.
