in the last three years i have had 4 plants i have hand pollenated most all females myself, about 25 - 30 on two plants just this last summer. i only get (if i'm lucky)one pumpkin to set per plant. then at about 30 days they stop growing (they run 100-130 lbs. at 30 day's) ?????? after the pumpkins stop growing i leave the plant run it's course the rest of the season and let the bee's go to work......still no fruits will set. my soil is great here in iowa, that shouldnt be a problem. i've had soil test's done, nothing to far out of line. i fertilize per, how to grow world class giant pumpkins, i bury my vines and give them about 800 sq. feet of room. |
