Ribes sanguineum ( ‘Brocklebankii’ Flowering Currant )

Spineless, upright, deciduous, small tree or shrub. Plant is a slow grower, to 4 feet tall and wide. Brilliant yellow leaves are slightly hairy, rounded, 3 to 5 lobed, toothed and heart-shaped at the bases, 2 to 4 inches long. Light pink, tubular flowers are held in pendant racemes, 2 to 4 inches long. Flowers are followed by rounded, glaucous, black fruit, 1/4 inch across. A native to coastal California up to British Columbia.
