Flowers at first the deepest, richest crimson
imaginable, but quickly turning to an equally rich royal purple _ not to be
confused with the sometimes jarring purples of many modern roses. Cupped
rosette shape. Dusky, dark green foliage. Requires generous treatment. There
is a strong Old Rose fragrance of the character associated with some of the
darker Gallicas.
