Half-hardy Annual / Hardy Perennial
- Flowers: Spring to Summer
- Height: 8 inches
- Position: Sun or Partial Shade
- Germination: Experience Useful
- Aftercare: Easy
Description: A spring themed designer mixture of four pure colours; orange, primrose, yellow and white. The breeder has succeeded to encourage the uniform plants to produce an abundance of large flowers, formed on short sturdy stems, held above lush green foliage. Excellent garden performance for spring or summer flowering in bedding, containers, windowboxes, baskets and borders. Hgt. 15-20cm (6-8in).
Sowing Instructions: Sow February-March for summer flowering or June-August for spring flowering. Sow 1.5mm (1/16in) deep in good seed compost or alternatively, cover with a thin layer of Sow Lite (vermiculite). Exclude light as darkness is beneficial. Germination usually takes 14-21 days at 15-18C (60-65F), Keep soil just moist and avoid higher temperatures which can prevent germination.
Growing Instructions: When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant about 5Cm (2in) apart in trays of potting compost or into 7.5cm (3in) pots and grow cool. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 23-30cm (9-12in) apart in most soils, sun or part shade.
Aftercare Instructions: June-August sowings can be planted out in their flowering positions in September or grown on through the winter in a cold frame and planted out in the spring.
