Description: Develops a trunk or caudex, like palms, as each frond dies. Mixture is drawn from Cyathea and Dicksonia species. Hardy in light to medium frost areas. Pack includes enough spores for 25 plants.
Sowing Instructions: Sow in trays, pots, etc of good seed compost in a propagator or warm place to maintain an optimum temperature of 70-75F (20-25C). Surface sow on a peat/sand mix seed compost and do not exclude light. Sow at any time of year. Surface sow onto moist sterile soilless compost. Do not cover with compost. Seal the seed container inside a polythene bag and leave in subdued light until germination, which can be from 10 days to a year or more.
Growing Instructions: Transplant seedlings in small clumps, handling carefully, preferably into 7.5cm (3in) pots. Pot on as required into 13cm (5in) and finally 20cm (8in) pots. They prefer free draining compost with extra sand added. Grow in large pots or tubs in a shady greenhouse or conservatory.
Aftercare Instructions: Syringe trunk daily from spring to autumn. Provide a minimum winter temperature of 7-13C (45-55F).
