Hardy Annual Climber
- Flowers: Summer
- Position: Full Sun
- Germination: Easy
- Aftercare: Easy
Description: After several years' work by a T&M customer, who specializes in Sweet Peas, we are delighted to offer this new introduction. With a stunning, deep magenta-rose colour and delicate fragrance, it is sure to please. Ideal for the garden, exhibition or as a cut flower.
Sowing Instructions: Sow October or January to March in pots or trays of moist seed compost and cover with a ½in layer of compost or vermiculite. Place in a propagator or warm place, and keep at a constant temperature of between 20-25C (68-77F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination will usually take 10-21 days.
Alternatively, spring sowings can be made direct outdoors, 2 ½cm (1in) deep in drills 7.5cm (3in) apart.
Growing Instructions: When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions before planting out in spring when the ground has warmed, 23cm (9in) apart.
Aftercare Instructions: For best results, provide a rich, moist, well-drained soil in full sun. Pinch out growing point once the first or second pair of leaves has opened. Water plants freely in dry weather and cut flowers regularly to prolong flowering period. An application of manure may also be beneficial during growth.
Caution: Harmful if eaten
