Sowing Instructions

Sowing time:late winter to early summer
Sowing depth:6mm (¼in)

Sow on the surface of a good seed sowing mix. Make sure the sowing mix is moist but not wet and seal inside a plastic bag until after germination which usually takes 21-40 days at 18-24C (65-75F). To speed this up place in a fridge, after sealing in the plastic bag, and leave at 3-5C (35-41 F) 2-3 weeks, then place in warmth. Inspect regularly while in the fridge and remove immediately if they start to germinate.

Growing Instructions

Transplant when large enough to handle into 7.5cm (3in) pots. When plants have grown large enough, harden off and plant out 12in (30cm) apart in moist well drained soil, sun or part shade, after last frost but at least 8 weeks before first fall frost.

Caution

Harmful if eaten.
