Description

Introducing Basil Cinnamon, Basil Lettuce Leaf, Basil Greek, Basil Purple Delight, Basil Lemon and Basil Ararat better known as The Spice Boys! Individually attractive and unique in appearance - from frilly spice to plain leaved spice. Together they offer a symphony of flavours to tantalise your taste buds in salads, cooking and garnishes.

Basil lettuce Leaf: Almost in appearance to a frilly- leaf lettuce. Short, robust plants with large leaves which have a sweet taste. Use with tomatoes, olive oil, onions and Morzorella cheese. Height 20in.

Basil Cinnamon: Bushy, tall habit with a sweet, cinnamon spicy taste with a hint of cloves. Decorative purple flower spikes. Delicious in dishes with tomato sauce. Height 24in.

Basil Greek: Compact dwarf plants with rounded foliage. Lots of white flowers in summer. Fairly strong flavour with hints of anise-clove. Use in salads. vegetable gratins and dishes with tomato sauce. Height 4-6in.

Basil Purple Delight: Uniform plants dark purple leaves, compact habit and a good container plant. Full bodied, sweet yet very spicy flavour, superb for garnishing and flavouring. Height 12-14in.

Basil Lemon: The typical Basil flavour is overshadowed by a wonderful aroma of sweet lemon. Delicious used with fish, peas and selected sweets. Height 24in.

Basil Ararat: An old heirloom, distinct variety with dark green mottled foliage, seldom offered until recently. Fantastic aromatic, sweet and spicy taste. Height 14-18in.

CONTENTS: One packet each of Basil Lettuce leaf, Basil Cinnamon, Basil Greek, Basil Purple Delight, Basil Lemon and Basil Ararat.

Sowing Instructions

Sowing time:late winter to spring.
Sowing depth:1.5mm (1/16in)

Sow in good seed compost. Germination usually lakes 14-21 days at 21-24C (70-75F).

Growing Instructions

Transplant when large enough to handle into 8cm (3in) pots. Later harden off and plant out 38cm (l5in) apart into ordinary well drained soil in full sun when all risk of frost is past.
