Description

Outstanding garden performance is only one of the reasons to grow 'Sundial Peach'. Another is because the flowers of this variety stay open longer than other portulacas. Attractive bright peach blooms will shine out from sunny borders or containers on a sunny patio.

Sowing Instructions

Sowing time:February to April.

Sow on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays. Cover with a very fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Keep at a temperature of between 15 to 20C (59 to 68F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination will usually take 7 to 14 days.

Growing Instructions

When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3 inch)pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 10 to 15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm (12 inches)apart.

Aftercare Instructions

For best results, provide a rich, light, well to drained soil in full sun.
