Description
T&M's flower breeders are delighted that all their hard work over the last 10 years has resulted in Zinnia Aztec Sunset being awarded a Fleuroselect Gold medal.
This spectacular Zinnia produces floriferous, dwarf, bushy plants clothed in striking double flowers in a wide range of vibrant color shades, including many bicolors.
These attractive fully double flowers have excellent weather resistance and will create a long lasting colorful display in borders or containers, as well as attracting butterflies to your garden.
Sowing Instructions
| Sowing time: | Indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost or outdoors after last frost in areas with long summers. |
Sow indoors.
Sow seeds onto the surface of a good free-draining, damp, seed or multipurpose sowing mix.
Lightly cover 3mm deep with vermiculite.
Place container in a propagator or seal inside a plastic bag at a temperature of 20-30C (68-86F) until after germination which usually takes 7-14 days.
Can also be sown direct into the soil after last frost.
Growing Instructions
Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle, taking care not to damage the fragile roots, into trays or 7.5cm (3in) pots.
Gradually acclimate plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost 30cm (12in) apart.
Aftercare Instructions
Deadhead regularly to prolong blooming.
