Description A skilfully chosen mixture of conifers to provide weeping pyramidal, horizontal, spreading and other types of growth, all fascinating subjects for Bonsai. Selection and number of seeds will depend entirely on crop availability. Sowing Instructions | Sowing time: | late winter to late spring. | Sow in good free draining seed compost just covering the seed. Germination can be slow. Alternatively seal in a polythene bag after sowing and leave in a refrigerator (3-5c for 3-4 weeks then place in warmth 18-21C (65-70F). Inspect regularly and remove if any start to germinate in the fridge. Different types will germinate at different times. Growing Instructions Transplant when large enough to handle into 7.5cm (3in) pots. Move to a coldframe or plunge the pots up to their rims in a sheltered site outdoors and grow on for a full season before carrying out any pruning. Aftercare Instructions Bonsai subjects are hardy and need to be grown in cool fresh well lit surroundings but with some shade in the summer to prevent the pots from drying out.
