Description
T&M, as yet, have not been able to identify this Sweet William-like plant, but it is quite delightful with its rich and unusual, deep glowing amethyst flowers borne on red-tinged stems.
Although perennial, from an early sowing it will easily flower in its first summer.
Sowing Instructions
| Sowing time: | late spring/early summer. | | Sowing depth: | 6mm (¼in) in drills 30cm ( 12in) apart. |
Sow outdoors in a well prepared seed bed.
Sow the seeds very thinly and keep the soil damp until germination takes place.
Growing Instructions
Thin out the seedlings to 15cm (6in) when large enough to handle.
Transplant 30cm (12in) apart into flowering site in the autumn for flowering the following year.
Aftercare Instructions
They will grow in most soils and grow equally well in full sun or part shade.
