Description
Raised by a T&M Scottish customer.
We are delighted to introduce such a refreshing break in color.
Each petal is evenly divided by a red and yellow stripe and this produces a thoroughly eye-catching effect.
The bushy, uniform 60cm (2ft) plants produce loads of flowers, excellent for bedding and particularly good for cutting, lasting well in water.
Occasional all yellow bloom produced through climate stress.
Sowing Instructions
| Sowing time: | Indoors 6-8 weeks before last spring frost or outdoors after last frost |
Sow at 21-24C (70-75F) in a good seedsowing mix.
Just cover the seed with sowing mix and keep the mix damp but not wet.
Germination usually takes 5-14 days.
Growing Instructions
When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant and grow in cooler conditions.
Gradually acclimatize to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm (12in) apart in a sunny spot.
Aftercare Instructions
Approx. 10-15 days after planting out, pinch out the growing point at the top of the plant to make them bush out.
Kitchen Notes
The flowers taste of orange or lemon. Use in sandwiches, salads, seafood chowders and hot desserts.
