Maincrop maturity that bulks up well to give good weight roots that store really well for autumn and winter use.
Sowing Instructions
| Sowing time: | March to July. |
| Sowing depth: | 1cm (1/2in) deep in drills 23-30cm (9-12in) apart. |
Sow thinly in well-drained, fertile soil, which has been raked to a fine tilth.
Keep moist until germination.
Growing Instructions
Thin out as soon as seedlings are large enough to handle, to 5cm (2in) apart.
Later thinnings will be suitable for use in the kitchen.
Aftercare Instructions
Water soil well before harvesting to aid extraction.
The roots can be lifted and stored in layers of peat or sand in a frost-free place for winter use.
