Description Invaluable long-lived border plants in numerous shades of pink, orange and scarlet with distinctive, contrasting stripe. One of the worlds' most popular cut flowers. Sowing Instructions | Sowing time: | February to July. | | Sowing depth: | ¼ inch (6 mm) | Sow in trays, pots, etc of good seed compost in a propagator or warm place to maintain an optimum temperature of 70-75F (20-25C). After sowing, seal the seed tray, pot etc. in a polythene bag and keep at 70F (20C) for 3 weeks, then place in a refrigerator at 5C (40F) for 3 weeks. After this place in warmth 70F (20C). Germination then takes 14-30 days. Growing Instructions Transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots when large enough to handle, taking care not to damage the roots. Acclimatise young plants to outdoor conditions before planting out in full sun 30cm (12in) apart. Aftercare Instructions Prefers a rich, light, well drained soil. Choose a sheltered position where they won)t be disturbed for several years. Caution May cause skin allergy.
