Description This rare, choice species features delicate, nodding, chocolate-brown, 1.5cm (½in) blooms from late spring onwards. The neatly compact plants are perfect for borders and rockeries. A collector's item. Height 30-35cm (12-14 inches). Sowing Instructions | Sowing time: | late winter to early summer | Sow on the surface of a good free draining, damp, seed compost and cover with a fine sprinkling of vermiculite. Seal container inside a polythene bag and place at 15-20C (59-68F). Germination can take 1-3 months. Do not exclude light, as this helps germination. Sometimes slow to germinate. If no germination after 8 weeks, pre-chill for 3 weeks. Growing Instructions Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into 7.5cm (3in) pots. Gradually acclimatize plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost and at least 8 weeks before first fall frost 30cm (12in) apart. Caution Harmful if eaten.
