Burning Bush won't grow

I have two burning bushes on the east side of my house. They have very few leaves but green stems. They are suppose to get full but seem to grown up and now fullness. Do you know what is wrong with them? Also, my pointellas are flat? I have the white ones and they don't seem to grow upward but outward?
