: I have a Scottish Broom which bloomed for two years. It was just beautiful. It bloomed this year but right after the flowers went the entire broom looks dead.
I don't know if you've lost it, but often after blooming the tips of the plant die back. Try scraping the bark with your fingernail near the main stem to see if there is any green. If so, the plant is still alive. If it has died, I would ask that you consider NOT replacing it with another one. It is considered an invasive in many parts of the country. You can do a search at www.google.com and put in quotes either "Cytisus scoparius" or "Scotch broom" or even "Scottish broom". Good luck,
