Arborvitae question

: I have 3 large Arborvitae that have really been affected by recent snow fall.  Most of the limbs have broken about 5-6 feet from the base. There isn't really much hope of saving them. My question is this: Can someone inform me of the root system for this tree?Each one stands approx. 15 feet high. How much of a hassle is it going to be to remove the stumps/roots? Thanks for any help.
