I have removed the line of 5 yews but there are problems with the remaining tall cedar and yew. The two were planted fairly close to the gas line so we are assuming that the roots are wrapped around it. We're now planning on hiring someone who is licensed and insured to remove the stumps. I still need to know if anyone has suggestions for changing the pH of the soil or any information on what a yew does to the soil around it.
