Autumn Blaze® Red Maple Trees

Autumn Blaze Red Maple Trees, Acer fremanii, 'Autumn Blaze', are extremely fast-growing maple trees with brilliant red fall color. Under good conditions they can grow 3 ft. or more per year. They are tolerant of clay soils and droughty conditions. These deciduous trees develope a dense oval head with strong branching which makes them popular shade trees as well as an ornamental tree. Box Elder Maple Trees

Box Elder MapleTrees, Acer negundo, are also commonly known as ashleaf maple, Manitoba maple, box-elder maple, and western box-elder. This deciduous maple tree is a small-to-medium-sized tree, reaching heights of 50 to 75 feet, with a trunk diameter up to 4 feet. The trunk is relatively short and tapering, and the crown is spreading and bushy. It has a thick trunk and upright branching habit, but is more often seen as a smaller tree with cane-like, bright green branches. Box Elder Maple trees are fast growing and tolerate poor conditions. These shade trees have brittle wood. Boxelder bugs eat seeds on female trees. Although it grows best on moist soils, box-elder is drought and cold resistant. It can also tolerate flooding for extended periods (up to a month). The seeds are a source of food for birds and mammals, and are important because they stay on the tree through winter, when other food resources are scarce.


Flame Amur Maple Trees

Flame Amur MapleTrees, Acer ginnala, are usually multi-stemmed trees, noted for their fiery red autumn color. Their summer color is green, but this mixes with bright red samaras or 'helicopters' in mid summer. Flame Amur Maple trees are extremely hardy and drought resistant once established. They make an excellent screen or hedge.These deciduous maple trees are best grown in normal garden soil in full sun to partial shade. Japanese Red Maple Tree

The Japanese Red Maple tree, Acer Palmatum Autropurpeum, is by far, one of the most popular ornamental plants in the plant kingdom. This small deciduous tree is a very showy, versatile species. Japanese Red Maple trees are used as a single specimen or in borders or groupings. This plant can be a single-stemmed small tree or multi-stemmed shrub. The leaves are reddish-purple in spring and again in fall. The Japanese Red Maple tree is used to create a unique bonsai tree. The classic Japanese maple has red-purple leaves which turn a brilliant red in autumn. Prospers in full sun and moist well drained soils.


Red Maple Tree

The Red Maple Tree, Acer rubrum, is a deciduous tree which will typically grow 40-60' tall with a rounded to oval crown. In northern states, red maple tree usually occurs in wet bottomland, river flood plains, and wet woods, but in the south, it typically frequents drier, rocky upland areas. Leaves are shiny green above and pale green beneath, 3-5 lobed and 3-6" across. Species name of rubrum (meaning red) is everywhere in evidence: red flowers in dense clusters in late March to early April (before the leaves appear), red fruit (initially reddish, two-winged samara), reddish stems and twigs, red buds, and, in the fall, orange-red foliage color. This red maple tree grows faster than a Norway Maple Tree and Sugar Maple Tree, but slower than Silver Maple Tree. Sap of this tree can be used to make a maple syrup that is inferior in quality to syrups made from the sugar maple. Red Maple trees are widely planted and admired.


Red Maple Trees - Autumn Flame
Autumn Flame Red Maple Trees, Acer rubrum, 'Autumn Flame', are  fast growing trees that are also one of the first trees to show fall color.  Autumn Flame Red Maple Trees have scarlet, green leaves which make for gorgeous fall color. These deciduous maple trees' leaves will always contain a hint of scarlet. They grow in low lands and can handle excessive moisture. Silver Maple Tree

Silver Maple Trees, Acer Saccharinum, are a medium to large fast growing tree. The species is ideal for wet bottomland sites and can easily recover from extended periods of flooding. It is one of the best trees for poor soil and it transplants very easily. The wood of these maples tree is soft and can be damaged by severe winds or ice storms. Along with its fast growth, it may live 130 years or more.  Silver Maple Trees are often used in residential areas for shade because of their thick foliage and fast growth. Their leaves are deeply cut and silvery white underneath. They appear as light green and turn to yellow in the fall. These deciduous maple trees provides very dense shade. Fall color is a golden yellow.


Sugar Maple Trees

Sugar Maple treee, Acer Saccharum, are one of our most majestic deciduous trees. They are excellent for large shade or lawn locations. Trident Maple Tree

Trident Maple Trees, Acer Buergerianum, are a deciduous, 20-30 foot-high by 25-foot-wide tree in the wild. Trident Maple Trees have beautiful 3 inch wide, tri-lobed leaves, glossy green above and paler underneath, which turn various shades of red, orange, and yellow in autumn. The flowers of Trident Maple Trees are bright yellow and showy in the spring. Trident Maple Trees naturally exhibit low spreading growth and multiple stems but can be trained to a single trunk and pruned to make it branch higher, allowing passage below its broad, oval to rounded canopy.
