Could be transplant shock. Be patient with the tree and keep it watered. Patience is the key. If the tree does not recover within a months time, I'd dig it up and exchange it for a new one.

: We recently planted a Japanese Weeping Cherry (about 1 week ago). Now alot of the leaves are turning brown especially the new leaves. We have fertilized the tree - could this be transplant shock or did we do something wrong??
