There are two locusts. The common locust gets worms here in Maryland and several other states and makes it uncomfortable to walk under in mid summer and, over time, will have very large and spreading surface roots that will lift sidewalks and driveways. The black locust will sucker all over and also browns out in mid summer. They leaf out late and lose their leaves early. They also get thorns on their trunks. Here's a site that will give you all kinds of helpful info on trees. http://hort.ifas.ufl.edu/trees/index.htm Hope this was helpful, |
