My magnolia tree has what appears to be sap coming from it. I'm not sure of the type of magnolia tree it is. It does have the famous white flowers, is over 40 yrs old and the trunk is at least 3ft in diameter. Another problem the tree has is white spots on the leaves. The spots have been there for years. The sap only appears ever few years. I read something to the fact that ants could be the problem. Help! It is ruining my plants under it and everything around, including my car. My driveway is under the tree. If the ants are the cause it makes sense. We have had rain for about 30 days straight. Thanks, waterlog sap.
