Cherry tree leaves falling off

: we planted two cherry trees last november. One in the front yard is doing great.  The one in the back yard seemed ok this spring but in the last few weeks the leaves turned yellow and most all fell off.  The ones on the tree are now brown and dead.  The leaves do not show any spots.  We have had a very wet spring and summer so far and we have had problems with moles.  I would appreciate any advise if you have encountered this problem.
