Sick Weeping Cherry Tree

: We have a young weeping cherry tree that has started to weep at the base of the trunk.  It started out as a small amount of sap coming from one spot, but now it seems to be leeking from 3 or 4 spots, and the sap is actually puddling on the ground.  I've read that we may have a borer and durispan was recommended, but hasn't that pesticide been taken off the market?
: Is there anything else we can do?
