Do a search on www.google.com for:

pruning, pear, pruning advice, how to prune, etc.

I will say that you may be well off to prune only what you need to now, and wait until late fall.

Fruit tree often need a lot off the top. And a lot off the top in summer can mean sunburn to bark that was in the shade.
