Blackberry Tree?

We have a tree in our yard that is producing what I think are blackberries. However after doing some web research, I've learned that blackberries grow on thorny shrubs. What could this tree be? I appreciate any info you could provide, and if you'd be so kind e-mail me directly. Thanks!
