Prune off some foliage.

Repack the earth with a shovel handle or stick to get rid of possible air gaps.

Check the landscape advice at my site shown below. In ADVICE. Its the last topic or so. Mulch is critical.

Prune off a little bulk.

Garden centers carry a spray to dilute and apply that can seal leaves.
