Charlene, I have a Weeping Cherry tree that is sick also. It's doing the same thing, the leaves are turning yellow and brown and falling off at an alarming rate. The bark on some of the branches has erupted, but is not seeping. I saw some bugs on it earlier in the season, but I have sprayed them with "eight" spray for trees, and I think that took care of the bugs. I sprayed it about 3 times. The spray said it was meant for fruit trees, so I don't think that is what's hurting it. I'd like to save the tree, but it's in bad shape at this point. Does anybody have any ideas on this? Should I prune the "infected" branches off? Should I put something over the "erupted" parts? I have no idea what to do, as I thought the tree spray would remedy the problem. Any advise welcome at this point.
