Planting a Weeping Willow

Hi, My Weeping Willow just died and had to be removed, but before it died we were able to get a cutting to root. Now we want to plant our cutting but aren't sure when the best time of year to do that is. We also don't know if there are any little hints to help it grow better. If anyone can point me toward helpful information I would be very grateful.
