I'd take a Birch over a Willow any day.

How about Himalayan White Birch - Betula Jaquemontii

Ask around in your area to check how well they will do there.

Medium speed growth.

Red Sunset Maple?

Read up on Parrotia.

October Glory Maple.

Norwegian Sunset Maple.

TriColor Beech.

Other Beech trees.

Photos of the latter two are: Tricolor on my Pruning Page, and a distance shot of a Red Beech in Portland, Oregon on one of my Advice Pages.
