: There are two 10 ft high pine trees, both in ridiculous locations that I would love to cut down, but my husband wont cut anything down unless its already dead.He agrees they are in a terrible spot, though.I cant take them anymore and I want to help them along. They are white pine trees. Can I give them a blight or poison them somehow?I was told that roundup only works on broadleaf weeds.Any good ideas?

Well, you could cut out a section of the bark totally around the trunk of the tree. Do it about 6" wide. The tree will be exposed to the elements and won't be able to recover. This will take at least 2 to 3 years to kill the tree. Best to just cut them down for safety sake. I don't use poisons so I can't help you there.

Good luck,
Newt
