: : I had my Locust tree stump ground up and I am still getting little locusts growing all over my yard. What do I do? Can they grow from seed?

: Pat,

: I had to laugh when I read "little locusts". I'm not sure why. But anyway, just pull them out from the roots and next spring you wont have any more. They do grow from seed and when the tree came down i'm sure some spread. It'll be over soon.

: Good luck

Hi Mike...........I'm glad I gave you a good laugh. However, someone earlier told me that they take about 3 years to disappear. I killed some with Round Up, but more grew in the same spots. They were impossible to pull up, and now I have clusters of stumps which are killing the lawn mover. I'm going to get the major roots dug up, put top soil down and plant grass. This is around where the old trees were and I stopped watering the new grass seed due to these "little locusts" so there are large spots where no grass is growing anyway. I'm just pulling the odd ones growing in the yard because I do believe these came from seed. But I would like to know whether or not it will take 3 years. Where is your info from? Thanks......will be awaiting your reply.
