Twisted Hibiscus Tree

My plant leaves are turning brown. We feed about once a week and water when it is dry to the touch. It is in a large pot and have had the plant about 4 years bringing in the house for the cold winters we have in MI. It is has lots of buds but no flowers as yet. We are having very hot weather it gets some shade and some sun. It has been in the same spot other summers doing very well there.
