: We live in the Great Lakes areas that experinence severe cold. We were given a Hibiscus tree two years ago for an aniversary gift and need some care tips about feeding and pruning. We take it out in the spring and it does well. When we bring it in for the winter it drops ~~~ of it's leaves. We have three double red braided hibiscus trees that our neighbor, a landscaper, gave us three years ago. They summer on our backyard patio in Zone 6, and we bring them in each October before the frost. We have found that they tend to drop some of their leaves, but not ~~~, when they are first brought inside. But with regular watering and a fairly sunny window, they do well and are setting buds and even flowering as I write this (Jan. 1st). Their beautiful flowers mid-winter are most welcome!
