: I have a young hibiscus plant that I purchased at the nursery. It is a single stem and has grown to about four feet (from six inches). I would like to remove all the lower leaves and hopefully have it grow into a "tree". Will it revolt ?? It is very healthy and has had flowers and is in bud right now but they are all at the top.
