: I have 3 beautiful gardenia bushes and all have lots of booms going on. Every time a flower opens, it has some black knat looking bugs crawling all over it? What are these and how can I get rid of them? Hi, if there is a sticky residue left on the leaves this is a aphid problem. The sticky reisdue is called honeydew. Safer's insecticidal soap will eliminate your problem and make your plant allllll better.
