I planted pole beans this year for the first time; I usually stick to bush beans. But we planted our garden late (end of May, which is about a month late for a typical Oklahoma garden), and I've heard that pole beans are more heat-resistant than bush beans. Where I live, bush beans stop producing fruit once we start getting temps in the mid-90's and higher.
Here's my problem: the plants themselves look wonderful -- full and bushy and putting on TONS of leaves every day. However, they've been growing for about a month, and so far, no blooms. I'm trying to be patient, but I want some green beans, soon. The variety we planted is Blue Lake. Does anyone out there know when they should be bloom? Is there anything we can do to encourage blooming? Thanks!!
