woodchucks in garden

My garden is doing great this year until the last week or so. I've been seeing a woodchuck or 2 in my yard all summer but they have not bothered my garden until now. They seem to like the cucumber leaves - especially the young ones. Any suggestions on how to stop them? - I won't poison them and I don't really want to relocate them. I just want to deter them. Thanks
