ants on my tomato plants

I live in south florida. Im having a problem with black ants. They seem to be hanging out on the leaves and stems of my plants. Does anyone know how to get rid of them. There are also little white fuzzy things sticking to the stems. I don't know if the two problems are related. Please offer some advice.
