we generally put marigolds bordering all our flower beds. it's definitely helped with the nipped leaf syndromes we've had the past few years. i hear nasturtiams are good too..but they just take up so much room. we do about 6 dozen marigolds at a time..hehe..we start them in recycled egg cartons. after we put them in the ground we start again...we have a lot of borders..hehehe
