a lighter shade of green

Some of my zuchinni are turning a lighter shade of green. Somewhat slower growth than darker plants, but otherwise healthy. This is hill specific. In other words, those that look dark are all in the same hills; likewise those that have lightened are in the same hills. What is the cause?
