: Hi,

: I have a small spot on the front of my house (between 2 doors) that I'd like to put up a trellis with a flowering vine that has pink, showy flowers in a pot. The problem is that the front of my house is in the shade all year long. Do you know any vines that are good for this situation? I really want to use Clematis, but I fear it'll want sun.

: Thanks,
: Chloe

Hi Chloe,

There are clematis that will grow and bloom on a north facing wall. You may have to grow two or three together to get different bloom times. If you do that, make sure they are all in the same pruning group.

Hope you can resist planting them all! ;-)
