Hi Richard,

Hope the kids are enjoying the dog. I have two large dogs, one male and one female. For the poop damage you can sprinkle some compost (thinly) and a little table sugar and water lightly. That should help with green up.

For the urine you could follow the dog around and water the spots where he/she goes. Another option is to use dry food that is low in protien and add water to it. It helps to lower the ph.

Please don't add tomato juice to the dog's food as some people recommend. This adds sodium that isn't good for the dog. I just makes them drink more water. There are also tablets you can get to lower the ph of the urine. I've heard conflicting reports with these. Do watch for any signs of a urinary tract infection.
