: I am moving out of province and would like to take my rose bushes with me, I have always pruned in the spring and want to know should I prune before I dig them up or when I replant , they are quite large and pruning before would make the move (space wise) easier any help !!

Hi Lora,

Go ahead and prune your roses now and dig them up. Put them in pots or wrap the roots well with burlap and twine. Have the new holes ready before you unwrap them root system.

Good luck on your move,
Newt
